Karen Mulder was born on July 1, 1970 in Vlaardingen, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. In 1987, Karen won a modeling contest in Amsterdam, which makes her the finalist in Elite’s Look of the year Worldwide competition. She won the second place. Then she choose modeling as her career and left the school. She went to Italy with her mother for formal photo shoot, and then to Paris for modeling school, where the Elite modeling agency took over her career. Within next three years, Karen steps to supermodel status.
